So much to do ... so little time ... I have been taking some courses in photography and work has been hectic so have fallen way behind on everything else ... housework, artwork and dA!!!

All this would be okay except being the neurotic person I am ... well, I feel guilty!

In reality I am sure that the people who watch me are not getting depressed over my abscence or that any one really notices that I have been derelict in my thanking. But being all too human, I can't help but feel that I should be here and communicating with all!

So my friends ... please accept my heartfelt or guilt ridden (depending on your perspective) apology ... and my generic thank you one and all!!!

I will be back once my world quiets down ... I truly miss my friends here and will be dropping by for a look as often as I can ... hopefully once I have my courses completed I will have a bundle of inspiration to share!

Just got back from a little holiday ... no computer, no TV and no phone (well, I had my cell but it was turned off ... strictly for emergencies)!

It was lovely ... basically a driving trip down I5 to Lassen Volcanic Park in California and then to Southern Oregon to explore the Oregon Caves and then home again. I have a lot of photo's taken from the car as we had little time and lots of distance but it was fun! It is amazing how much you can see driving down an Interstate highway ... well at least in British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, and Northern California.

I have a couple of new contests to promote and some new features coming up (they will be up in the next couple of weeks ... still compiling something new and different)!

Well a really quick journal entry ... I am going away for a few days and I will either have a LOT of time to be on the computer or none! Thought I would just make a couple of comments and if I can get on the computer while away I can do some fun features and stuff ... but until then ... a quick update:

I have submitted my print for the ~DAmusicproject ... it is a little different for me ... lots of detail in the trees but hard to see on the computer as it is a dark (in colour) image. Very fun contest to enter ... a true challenge to come up with something different! Voting starts on August 25th ... so we will see. I don't usually do very well with "voting" contest but my goal in entering is not all about winning. It is more about having a goal, the challenge and a deadline!

The images was done for the two line in the song by Bob Dylan "A Hard Rain"

My lines where "I saw a white ladder all covered with water"

"I'll walk to the depths of the deepest dark forest"

The comments with the image describe my thoughts on why I did this for those lines.

I am going to upload a quick image tonight and that will be it for a while as I am not going to have access to my computer but hopefully I will get some photo's and inspriration on my journey. Plus it will be good for my back to take a rest!

It has been a long time since my last journal ... I usually try write a new Journal at least once a month but between a bad back (much better now), work and life in general I have been very slow on getting things done.

I have a new image "A Little Lamp Light" [link] ... it is a simple one but I have been wanting to do something with a feel of Andrew Wyeth's Christina's World [link] . I didn't want to copy; just to get a bit of the same "look". It didn't quite work out that way but it does have something about it I like and really wanted to get something finished!

So that is about it ... I have updated my features and included a list of some interesting contests, other than that I have now spent my allotted time on the computer (physio says no more than 2 hour per session) That's all for now ... HUGS!

Finally … the weather here has turned ... the incredible aroma of blossoms permeates the air and the ornamental fruit trees are in full bloom. And just to add a taste of danger to this idyllic environment … the bears are out and about. All in all it is a beautiful time of the year!

As a child I would pick (actually steal) flowers from neighbourhood gardens and atke them home to my mother. She was always so kind … she knew that they had come from someone’s garden but she also appreciated (and loved) that I did it for her. She would explain how much she loved wild flowers and that if I picked those she would be even more thrilled! 

I spent my last day off taking photo’s at a local Heron rookery and will be posting some of the images soon. Since I am writing this at work (bad me ) I have to wait until I am at home.

My newest photomanip it just about finished but I have had a poem roaming around my brain and would like to try to dig it out and submit them both at the same time. The image is a little different for me and I think that if the story/poem comes out it will be a good one!

As for my features … those too will have to wait until I can find some free time at home but I will get to it soon and try and revamp the whole thing!
