PLEASE VIEW FULL ... THIS ONE REALLY NEEDS IT :D

This is my entry for the Cosmic Illusions contest [link] being held by Funerium [link] Elandria [link] Lindowyn [link] and Faestock [link] ... and it is really the first SciFi image I have done ... or at least close to SciFi.

It is a very different piece for me. I usually have a single subject and this time I have a lot going on!

I am still not too sure how I feel about it :shrug:... your thoughts would be very welcome on this one :nod:

The Sky! - Created from two different Cosmic packs by =Funerium available at *resurgere; with a couple of cloud images of my own added to give it some "atmosphere".

The Merchant (lady in white) comes from the wonderfully versatile *faestock

The Trader (lady in black) comes from one of my favourite stock providers! `Elandria ... from her newest collection.

The Mechandise 1 (lady in teardrop) is from an exclusive pack I won created by =lindowyn-stock. I have wanted to use something from this wonderful pack and was thrilled that she worked so well in this one!

The Merchandise 2 (the Dragon) is from *JLStock ... amazing 3d work and her creatures are fantastic!

The Teardrop capsule enclosures, the Traders breathing apparatus and the back ground (horizon ... not the sky) are my own creation and I am not sure where the idea came from ... I think I must have dreamt it!

The image is about the Trader purchasing one or both of the "items" in the teardrops from the merchant who has captured them ... I'll let you can decide if The Trader is benevolent or not ... although I have some ideas where I would take this one I haven't persued the story line much further ... yet. I was going to call it Market of Tears but it ended up not have enough of a "market" feel.

I will be uploading a work in progress once my eyes recover from this one! xD

Yeah ... I am not sure if it is too much but I had fun with the story that played in my mind as I created it :D

I really like this piece. I love the detail in the teardrop prizons, and the far details at the meeeting of the sky are a nice touch.

I will have to say that I feel that the orginal idea you had for a marketplace transaction would have wroked nicely with the characters that you have here. It seems to me that all the elements are wonderful and they seemlessly added together, but the background doesn't really seem to go with the actions of the foreground.

Just my opinion. Still a great work of art. Much better than I could have done.

:D ... How goes it ... life is crazy here; we have been digging ourselves out of snow since early December ... 0.7cm short of the heaviest snowfall (for December) on record and the most consecutive days of snow on the ground. Plus it was the first time (ever, I think) that we had snow right across Canada for Christmas!

Not a good time to watch The Day After Tomorrow! :fear:

In Vancouver we usually don't get much snow. One maybe two mild to medium snowfalls a season, then (in a day or 2) it warms up and rains and all the snow washes away; presto, chango, we have a nice green (more or less) city again.

But, whew ... this year it has been incredible. I have just posted a photo of our car completely covered [link] just a bump in the snow! I have to dig it out now someday! I just noticed that it is snowing again! Arrrrghhh!

Anyway,not much else to say ... sorry I have been away so long, just had to take a break and deal with life stuff ... you know the one not on dA :giggle:.

Yeah ... I like that idea but it didn't work with the Teardrop enclosures ... I may try it again someday. Also I know what you mean about the background ... I LOVE the background but boy was it hard to come up with something that would "go" with it! But I loved it soooo much I just had to use it :shrug:
