This picture was created for Mizzd-stock 48 Hour Challenge (of course I missed the first 24 hours of it! The wonderful model is Mizzd from *mizzd-stock [link] The Coal Oil Lamp is from ~kaistock and the image can be found here [link] The background was created from my own photos. I have always wanted to do an image that had a feeling of Christina's World by Andrew Wyeth [link] and when I saw the image on *mizzd-stock it seemed to have the right "feel" and it went from there! Why she is sitting there with the lamp? Well for me she has turned her back on the day-to-day world and has sought out the joy found in a lovely sunset ... that peace at the end of the day. The lamp is there to guide her home when she is ready. I am really not sure of the title but was running out of time but while I was working on the image I liked the way the small light of the lamp somehow competes with the dynamic sunset. The title is a reference to that ...and everything else I came up with was just too cliche! -- "Toutes les âmes n'ont pas une égale aptitude au bonheur comme toutes les terres ne portent pas également des moissons" Chateaubriand (\--/) (^.^) (")_(") Thank you so much ... it was fun to have a challenge (time wise). I usually spend way too much time fiddling around with a concept; it was interesting to have a short time limit. Hugs for the comment!
-- The end and the start are not far apart; today is the tail of tomorrow. The start and the end are really a blend and joy is the flipside of sorrow. All is well ... my back is better and I have a few days off from work as things slow down in the Summer (I work at a school and summer programs are limited).
I have so much art I want to create ... it will be nice to have some time to work on it! Hugs! -- The end and the start are not far apart; today is the tail of tomorrow. The start and the end are really a blend and joy is the flipside of sorrow. |
